Arif Z. Mansuri is TSM's new VP/GM. "This is an honor well deserved!" said President Marcia Huntley. "On his way to the top, Arif proved to have strengths in so many key areas - operations as well as factory and financial management - that his career path had a crazy quilt' pattern of constant job promotions as we pulled him from one position to the next. I finally realized after years of relying on him that he was the perfect person to be our General Manager." He is now also the Treasurer of the Board of Directors.
Arif, who has been with the company for eight years, has a master's degree in industrial engineering, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and is currently working on an MBA. Regarding TSM's future he said, "My vision is to build on the strengths of TSM, which are excellence in made-to-stock and custom manufacturing as well as customer service."
A native of Pakistan, Arif finds that his name frequently presents a challenge to Americans. "It gets mispronounced so often that I gave up and just put the letters R.F.' on my business card. That seems to help!"
Arif is one of the many TSM employees throughout the years who found romance at the company. He has been happily married for six years to Debbie Mansuri, who was a customer service rep when they met.
Arif warns everyone in advance that he's recently developed a passion for golf. "If only my skill matched my enthusiasm, I'd be thrilled!"
New Catalog
in the WorksThe new catalog will feature expanded grab bar and railing sections. "We are presenting grab bars according to their use, which is a unique perspective and should prove to be very helpful. Also, most people think of TSM railing in stainless steel only, but we now offer custom brass, glass, aluminum and pool railing, which will all be featured," Pam added.

The Chairman of the Board Goes CruisingCliff and Alice Huntley just returned from another cruise, this time to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. "I really enjoyed snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas - that was fun! However, the blackjack dealer on the ship apparently didn't understand my system because he kept taking my money," Cliff reported.
Although they retired from TSM in 1988, their interest in the company remains keen and they keep in touch with daughter Marcia on an almost daily basis.
FunniesA man was in charge of taking his van full of penguins to the zoo. His van broke down and he was distraught until he had the great luck to see an empty truck coming along the road. He flagged it down and offered the driver a hundred bucks to take his penguins to the zoo. The driver agreed, and the man breathed a sign of relief.
Later that day, though, he drove by a movie theatre and who should come out but the driver he'd paid, followed by the penguins! He shouted to him, "Hey, what's going on? You were supposed to take them to the zoo!" "I did," the driver replied, "and we had some money left over, so I decided to take them to the movies!"
